In early anticipation and preparation for my trip to Greece and Turkey with Lino Rulli and The Catholic Guy Show on The Catholic Channel – Sirius 159 / XM 117, I have been doing a lot of research about what my amazing travel buddies and I can expect to drink while in Greece. As the Catholic Drinkie, I believe it is my duty to lay the groundwork for our outings. We don’t depart until April 29, 2011, but it’s never too early to start educating ourselves. Besides, I am so excited about it that I gotta do something to occupy my mind!
October 4 – a day which celebrates many things!
Thanks to my loyal Twitter pals for informing me that today is not only National Taco Day (nom nom nom) but National Vodka Day! I am not sure how I missed this wonderful news, but it made it to me so all is good now. 🙂
I did know, however, that today is the feast day for St. Francis of Assisi. One of my favorite quotes from him is: “I have been all things unholy. If God can work through me, he can work through anyone.” I don’t know about you, but that really describes my life in a pretty amazing way! God is awesome in how He works in our lives. I am truly blessed.
I’ve had a couple friends move recently and they have asked me to compile a list of essential items to have in a liquor closet. I would love your input to make a “stock the bar checklist” for all the fellow Drinkies out there!
Ahhh … a Long Island Iced Tea. It’s really a go-to beverage when you want something refreshing … and strong. I used to drink them in college at my favorite bar called The Linebacker Lounge (Go Irish!). You had a $3 cover and it included a drink ticket. More often than not, you ordered a Long Island Iced Tea. They made them in massive amounts and they were delicious. Too bad they aren’t that cheap anywhere else in the world!
