Did you catch some glimpses of the Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl trip that American Catholic media personalities Lisa Hendey, Drew Mariani, Fr. Rafael Capo, and Sherry Brownrigg went on last week in the coffee fields of Colombia? I was able to catch a little as I was traveling, but have since gone back to do more reading (and encourage you to do the same!). I was lucky enough to touch base with Sherry & Lisa while they were in Colombia, writing about a couple experiences:
Sherry’s favorite drink was the Honey Coffee from Villa de Loyola because “it represents the fruit of the labor of many small farmers in Colombia who work hard to make some of the best coffee in the world. And it truly was the best coffee I have ever tasted!”
Lisa writes, “While I’m tempted to say my favorite drink is obviously the Colombian coffee we have sampled, I know that Sarah and her readers will want to know about the beer I’ve been enjoying in Colombia. My new favorite is Club Colombia Negra, an almost porter-like dark beer with rich chocolate notes and a smooth full bodied flavor. Like all things Colombian, it is fantastic!”

CRS does some amazing work around the world, truly living out the Gospel and the call to serve the underprivileged that Pope Francis continues to remind us about. Be sure to check out Lisa’s Colombia Journal over at CatholicMom.com.
