I don’t know about where you live, but here in Atlanta, we are in full spring mode. We’ve got trees and flowers blooming, grass is green again and spring rain showers to help wash away the yellow pollen from the sky.
If you’re one of those people who is not affected by spring seasonal allergies, I am jealous. You can find me inside staring at all the people enjoying the perfect temperatures as I press my face against the glass wishing I didn’t erupt in sneezes and headaches from the outdoors.
With the arrival of warmer weather and the desire to spend more time outside on patios, comes the inevitable ask: what is your favorite spring beverage?
Spring beers are some of my favorites! They are light and full of flavor. They really do match the weather perfectly! But there are also endless numbers of delicious cocktails to enjoy on a patio. Several of which I discussed in my Top 5 Cocktails for Easter post.
Top 5 Beers For Spring
1.) Spencer Trappist Ale — The only official Trappist Ale to be brewed right here in the USA. It’s glorious and if you haven’t had it yet, track it down. It’s worth the price tag.
2.) Cigar City Florida Cracker — This is a very approachable Belgian Wit from one of my favorite breweries. Cigar City out of Tampa, FL, produces some excellent beers and this is a great spring ale that will please even the pickiest of palates.
3.) New Belgium La Folie — I’ll own it: I’m a HUGE fan of sours and this one leads the pack. If you haven’t ever tried a sour, this one is not for the faint of heart. It’s powerful pucker will lure you in. I seriously love this beer.
4.) *Insert your favorite cider here* — okay, so not a beer technically, but very refreshing regardless. Always a great choice. I don’t have a favorite brand as I like to explore new ones. I prefer the drier ciders that come out of Europe, though.
5.) Boulevard Radler / Stiegl Radler — It’s a tie for style here. Railers aka Shandies are really coming into style here in the United States. Created in Austria, this is half beer, half juice is great for warm weather. Don’t knock it till you’ve tried it.
